Zaur Tedeev was born in Vladikavkaz, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. He graduated from the North Caucasian Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Vladikavkaz) and the Moscow Architectural Institute (Moscow) in the areas of "Architecture" and "Architecture of public buildings and structures" respectively. He firmly decided to connect his life with photography and art after graduating from Moscow Architectural Institute.


In 2017 he became the winner of the All-Russian competition Best of Russia presenting a photograph of the highlander Viktor Ambalov.
He is also a two-time finalist of the Russian Geographical Society's competition "The Most Beautiful Country" in 2018 and 2019.
Collaborated as a photographer with Harper's Bazaar Russia, Esquire Russia, Tatler Russia, Office Magazine, GQ Russia, etc.
